Spelman on the Hill
Spelman on the Hill is an annual trip hosted by the Spelman College Student Government Association designed to create Spelman College Alumane-Student bonds and allow students to tour and explore Capitol Hill. On this trip, students are required to present advocacy topics to state senators and shadow congressional officials. During Katelyn's Spelman on the Hill trip, she shadowed Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson of Texas and advocated the topic of Medicaid Coverage for Doula Care & Support to Reduce Maternal Mortality to Georgia Senators, Johnny Isakson and David Perdue.
