During the Fall of 2018, Katelyn took a Public Health course focused on Public Health Surveillance, Social Determinants of Health, Disease Outbreaks, and more. At the end of this course, students had to create a Community Needs Assessment on a city of their choice, choosing three health disparities and social determinants of health that affect this city. Additionally, students were tasked to create their own health intervention to help combat issues in these communities.
